In the detail (below), one sees that some fields (left) have typical metacentric metaphase chromosomes. Other fields (center) have either ring chromosomes or meiotic chromosomes with distal chiasmata on both arms. To show how current the work is, there are even fields (right) with the shredded chromosomes that occur when both BLM and HJ resolvases are depleted, as reported in Wechsler et al. (2011).
