started in the lab May 2010

Research Interests

I chose two PhD advisors: Jeff Sekelsky and Steve Matson. Their interests are similar (DNA repair, recombination, and replication), their expertises are complementary (genetics and biochemistry), and their labs are across the hall from one another. My primary project is a genetic and biochemical study of the FANCM helicase from Drosophila.

Awards

National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, 2011-2014
GMB training grant, 2009-2011
